Size Guide

We understand how difficult it may be to order certain items that we stock online.  We also appreciate that cricket equipment, especially cricket bats, can be a significant expense to you, so we have put together a comprehensive size guide which should provide reassurance and point you in the right direction.  If you have any further questions or queries about your purchase, please feel free to contact us on 0207 582 0038.

If you order online and receive your goods, but for whatever reason they don't fit or feel quite right, you are safe in the knowledge that we offer a returns policy, which means that you can opt for either an exchange or refund if the goods are returned to us (in their original condition) within 14 days.

Cricket Bats

Choosing the correct size cricket bat is vital for the proper technical development of young players. It is important that the bat is not too long and, more importantly, not too heavy to hinder correct stroke play and good technique. Junior cricket bats are scaled down in size and weight to meet this important requirement. Below is an accurate guide to help you choose an accurate size for both junior and senior cricketers:

Size 1: Suitable for ages 4 – 5, Height Range: 4ft" – 4ft 3” (120 – 129cm), Bat Length 25 ¼”.
Size 2: Suitable for ages 6 - 7, Height Range: 4ft 4" - 4ft 6" (129 – 137cm), Bat Length 27 ¾”.
Size 3: Suitable for ages 7 - 8, Height Range: 4ft 7" - 4ft 9" (137 – 144cm), Bat Length 28 ¾”.
Size 4: Suitable for ages 9 - 10, Height Range: 4ft 10" - 4ft 11" (144cm – 150cm), Bat Length 29 ¾”.
Size 5: Suitable for ages 10 - 12, Height Range: 5ft 0" - 5ft 2" (150 – 157cm), Bat Length 30 ¾”.
Size 6: Suitable for ages 12 - 13, Height Range: 5ft 3" - 5ft 5" (157 – 163cm), Bat Length 31 ¾”.
Size Harrow (H): Suitable for ages 14 - 15, Height Range: 5ft 6" - 5ft 8" (163 – 172cm), Bat Length 32 ¾”.
Short Handle (SH): Suitable for ages 15+, Height Range: 5ft 9" - 6ft 2" (172 – 188cm), Bat Length 33 ½”.
Long Handle (LH) / Long Blade (LB): Suitable for ages 15+, Height Range: 6ft 3" upwards (191cm+), Bat Length 34 3/8”.

If you are still unsure on the correct size, we would recommend that you visit our London store and test the cricket bats in there before making a purchase.

Cricket Helmets

The general rule of thumb with cricket helmets is that, if the helmet peak is level with your eyebrows, then it is a good fit.  It should feel comfortable but firm, with minimal movement in any direction.

Small Boys: 51-52cm
Boys: 53-54cm
Youths: 54-56cm
Small Mens: 56-58cm
Mens: 58-60cm
Large Mens / OS Mens: 60-62cm.

Please Note: This guide reflects industry averages and exact measurements may vary from brand to brand. The measurements listed above are all circumferences, based on a line around the head starting above the eyebrows, continuing around just above the ears then down behind the head and back around. The internal padding within the helmet will over time mould to the shape of your head.

Cricket Clothing/Whites

The below sizes apply to cricket whites (Shirts/Sweaters/Slipovers/Trousers):

Small Boys: 24/26” (Waist), 26/28” (Chest).
Boys: 26/28” (Waist), 28/30” (Chest).
Youths: 28/30” (Waist), 32/34” (Chest).
Small: 30/32” (Waist), 36/38” (Chest).
Medium: 32/34” (Waist), 38/40” (Chest).

X-Large: 38/40” (Waist), 42/44” (Chest).
XX-Large: 42/44” (Waist), 46/48” (Chest).

Cricket clothing is usually loose fitting for maximum comfort and ease of movement.  Trousers are often supplied with generous unfinished legs to enable adjustment to the correct fit.  Sizes can vary from brand to brand and where ever possible chest and waist sizes are included in the relevant dropdown menu on the product pages.

Batting Gloves & Wicket Keeping Gloves

Batting or Wicket Keeping with a badly fitting glove is a nasty experience, and could dramatically affect performance, so you need to get it right.  The necessary measurement is from the start of the wrist to the tip of your middle finger (in a straight line).  Please note that not all batting gloves are available in the sizes listed below, and they can vary slightly from one manufacturer to another, but the size guide should still help.

Small Boys: 16.5cm
Boys: 17.5cm
Youths/Small Mens: 19cm
Mens: 21cm
Large / OS Mens: 22.5cm

Batting Pads

The measurement to take here is from the centre of the knee cap, to the instep (where the tongue of your shoe would fit).  Please note that not all batting pads are available in the sizes listed below, and they can vary slightly depending on the manufacturer, but the size guide should still give you a good idea.

Small Boys: 30-32cm
Boys: 32-35cm
Youths/Small Mens: 36-38cm
Mens: 39-43cm
Large / OS Mens: 44-48cm
